first of all I would like to apologize for answering a little late and to thank you in the name of the complete F.L.A.C. team for taking the time to examine our request concerning the UNICEF .
I would like to let you know immediately that on no account did we intend to give you the least lesson in psychology.
Our proceeding is first and foremost the action of residents who are fighting against one sort of violence amongst a multitude of acts of violence.
Indeed, we have been pondering on the corrida phenomenon and we estimate that it is a source of undeniable distress for the bulls and horses and that therefore it is but reasonable to give it up altogether without the slightest hesitation.
On no account are we opposed to knowledge transfer.
But this does not mean that we believe that an archaic sanguinary practice should be prolongated indefinitely.
We persist indeed in thinking that a city which hosts a "[so-called] Corrida school" (a Spanish one !) and which allows minors to access the arena can not properly be called a "child friendly city"!
Thus, we have called upon UNICEF to prove its utmost vigilance as to the allocation of the label "child friendly city".
All we are trying to achieve is that Spanish corridas be no longer promoted on the French territory which they do not belong to in any way whatsoever. As to Orwell's world, needless to say that citizens who oppose corridas are, of course, diametrically opposed to it!
Last, we will say that human beings are contradictions in terms, as apparently they are able to fight violence while tolerating corridas.
Nevertheless we do not doubt that here or there a new reflection is being born and has started to spread and that tomorrow a healthy coherence will at last be possible.
